Damon Albarn is an English musician, singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer. He is the singer for rock band Blur, and co-creator and primary musical contributor of virtual band Gorillaz. He has also been a member of art rock supergroup The Good, the Bad & the Queen and supergroup Rocket Juice & the Moon. He co-founded non-profit musical organisation Africa Express. Graham Coxon, Alex James, and Dave Rowntree are also members of Blur. Paul Simonon was also a member of The Good, and Flea was also a member of Rocket Juice.

Damon is the son of Hazel Dring and artist Keith Albarn. He has a daughter with artist Suzi Winstanley. He has also become an Icelandic citizen. Damon has said that his mother has Danish ancestry.

Damon’s paternal grandfather was Edward Albarn (the son of Edward Albarn and Charlotte Corp). Damon’s grandfather Edward was born in Leicester, Leicestershire. Damon’s great-grandfather Edward was the son of John Albarn and Elizabeth Allen/Ellen Picker. Charlotte was the daughter of William Alfred Corp and Annie Maria Roye. Charlotte’s great-grandfather, William Corp, was born in Dublin, Ireland.

Damon’s paternal grandmother was Lucy Joan Hockley (the daughter of Albert Hockley and Alice Mary Marlow). Lucy was born in Sileby, Leicestershire. Albert was the son of Benjamin Hockley and Annie E. Alice was the daughter of Frederick Marlow and Lucy Barrett.

Damon’s maternal grandmother’s surname was Bowser.
