Former Miss Nevada USA Katie Rees Arrested Again for Meth

Not so pretty. Katie Rees, the former Miss Nevada USA winner who lost her crown in 2006 following a nude photo scandal, has been busted for drugs again. According to the Las Vegas Sun, Rees was arrested on five drug-related counts, including possession of methamphetamine, in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The disgraced beauty queen, 31, was apparently riding with her boyfriend, Kevin “DJ Kulprit” Sims, when Sims was pulled over for speeding and failing to signal. According to the police report obtained by the Sun, the officer smelled marijuana and asked if Sims had any weapons or drugs in the car. Sims reportedly hesitated, and officers placed both him and Rees in handcuffs. After searching Sims, whose eyes were allegedly dilated, police found a jar containing GHB, aka liquid ecstasy. In Rees’ bag, police found rolling papers, two smoking pipes, and a canister containing marijuana, Xanax, Oxycontin, and a substance that tested positive for meth.

The Las Vegas Sun reported that Rees had confessed to smoking earlier in the day but initially lied and said that she was not carrying any drugs on her. The report also notes that Rees’ boyfriend told police, “If you find anything in the car that’s illegal, it’s not hers.”

Rees is being held on $9,000 bail. Sims was arrested on multiple counts including felony trafficking meth, felony trafficking GHB, and felony cocaine possession.

This is the former pageant contestant’s second run-in with the law this summer. In July, Rees was charged with four felony drug-related charges, including allegedly possessing and selling meth.
