Is Jimmy Palmer leaving NCIS? Jimmy Palmer is played by Brian Keith Dietzen in the hit series NCIS. The series is based on the American police procedural. Who is Jimmy Palmer? 

Brian Doetzen is an actor who performs as Dr. Jimmy Palmer in NCIS. Brian is born in 1977 in Barrington, Illinois but moved to Colorado when he was young. Barin start participating in school plays when he was in elementary school. He completes his study at the University of Colorado at Boulder, in the Bachelor of Fine Arts program.

During his study, he performs in the theater several times plays like Equus and Waiting for Godot. For two years he joined The Colorado Shakespeare Festival. Despite his stage appearance, he was also cast in the WB series My Guide to Becoming a Rockstar, in which he performed as a drummer. He also joins the show The Oldest Man in Show Biz with John Riggi, and Steve Rudnick.

Though he played an important role in From Justin to Kelly, he get more recognition from the NCIS role Dr. Jimmy Palmer aired on CBS. He is connected with the show from the first episode “Split Decision.” He starts playing the character from 2004 when the series begins. In 2012 till the tenth season of the series was aired he played the role.

“On a personal note, I’m really thankful I got to work with Mark and call him a friend for that many years,” he said. “I feel similarly about everybody I’ve worked with there. It’s been a wonderful, wonderful place for 20 years.”

“As people come into our set and people go, it feels like you’re making new family members and you’re making new friends all the time,” he said.

Is Jimmy Palmer Leaving NCIS?

Recently we get no hints that Brian is not playing Palmer’s character. In fact, during an interview, he stated that it may be possible that in the 40th season of the show, Jimmy gets retired.

At the time he has not to leave the show. He stated that the show is not focused on the departure of Jimmy’s character from the show. And if fans demand the show more then definitely Jimmy will appear.

Aside from this, we have no information about any injuries and other departing reasons for the show. When asked from him about leaving the show he said,

“We’re halfway there; Season 40 is when we’ll stop. It’s probably going to happen with Jimmy’s retirement … No, I have no idea.”

“The cool part is, if you asked our writing staff or the other actors on this show, you wouldn’t get any similar answers, because I don’t think any of us are focusing on the ending of the show, considering what the ratings still are and how much fun we’re still having.”

He again said:

“In my estimation, I’m like, ‘Let’s keep concentrating on those great arcs.’ If the time comes — because, as you said, everything will come to an end at some point — one of those arcs is going to lead us to the Promised Land and to the ‘NCIS’ ending. But if the ratings continue to be what they have been over the last year, I don’t see that happening imminently.”
