Spokane Knitting Factory Closed By Police Following Shooting
SPOKANE, WA (CelebrityAccess MediaWire) – The Spokane Police Department has ordered the Spokane Knitting Factory to be shuttered in the wake of a shooting in the venue's parking lot.
According to local Spokane Police, more than 20 officers responded to the 2:18 AM shooting call at the venue and found two males, both with gunshot wounds. Both men were transported to a local hospital and are listed in serious condition. Two additional men were shot 30 minutes later at a different location, but police believe the shootings are linked.
This is the fourth time Spokane Police officers have responded to the Knitting Factory on a report of a shooting in the past year alone. Additionally, SPD officers have responded to numerous other incidents of violence at or near the venue.
Following the shootings, Spokane Police Chief Frank Straub announced that he was ordering the venue shuttered due to public safety concerns. Chief Straub wrote on Twitter: "This will not be tolerated. I've ordered the Knitting Factory be shut down."
The shutdown is for 20 days and the venue can appeal that decision. At the time of publication, The Knitting Factory did not respond to a request for comment. Concerts currently on the books for the Spokane Knitting Factory include The Reverend Horton Heat, Tremonti, Black Veil Brides, Anberlin and the Hollywood Undead among others .- CelebrityAccess Staff Writers
