Taylor Swift teams up with Sugarland for breakup song "Babe"
In a collaboration we didn’t expect this Friday, Sugarland brought Taylor Swift back to her Country music roots with their latest release of the breakup song “Babe.” Co-written by Swift and Train’s Patrick Monahan, this track was originally supposed to be on Taylor Swift’s Red album.
In an Instagram video posted earlier Friday afternoon, Taylor Swift shares: “It’s a song that I wrote with Pat Monahan when I was making the Red album, and I’m so happy that it gets its own life. I’m so happy that Sugarland wanted to record it and has done such a great job with it, and I’m so stoked I get to sing on it too.”
After taking a listen, yes. We can confirm this definitely has Red album vibes. The chorus alone starts with: “How can you do this babe? you really blew this babe. We ain’t getting through this one, babe.”
Oooh. Share this with your friends who didn’t deserve to be cheated on! BRB while we playback Red.
